I am PASSIONATE about helping people to become their best version and feel more confident than ever with
strength training/resistance training.
Fitness in particular strength training changed my life. Now I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m in my 40s. I’m healthy, fit, and more confident then ever. I lead an active lifestyle. I’m able to keep up with my beautiful kids!
But I’ll let you in on a little secret - I never was fit. As a young girl I was unfit, didn’t play sport and always got picked last for the team ☹️.
In my twenties I tried the gym - cardio machines, of course, because isn’t that how you lose weight and how society conditioned you?! I tried running and even ended up competing in the Berlin Marathon in my 30s.
I then jumped onto the fitness merry-go-round with Zumba, Yoga and Pilates classes.
But I soon gave it all up, when I realised, I just wasn’t enjoying myself.
I’ve had long-term struggles with my weight and confidence. After my first child I couldn’t lose the last 5kg. By the time I’d had my second child, I was overweight.
This was my wake-up call. I realised that I have to find my ‘WHY' to start my weight loss journey.
My ‘WHY’ is I’m a mum of two kids and I want to be healthy, strong, active in order to keep up with my children and be there for them. I want to lead by role model and take full ownership for myself. That was the first step to my weight loss journey.
I joined a strength training boutique gym. I started to train 3 times a week and made one promise to myself to stay consistent no matter what. It took 9 months to see the results I wanted. When I began to focus on my nutrition, well, that’s when the magic happened. My entire body shape changed. For the first time in years, I liked the person I saw in the mirror because I felt strong and beautiful inside & out.
After such inspiring results I was curious about lifting heavy weights. I joined a bigger gym and hired a coach. I was so intimidated by all the fit people around me, but I kept showing up because of my ‘WHY’. Here I learned you only grow when you leave your comfort zone behind. I learned to gradually adjust my training intensity and nutrition as I got stronger and fitter.
My belief used to be that once you have kids or hit your 40s you will be overweight and old. So not true! But many of us (especially women) are conditioned to feel this way.
Trust me, it truly doesn’t matter how many kids you’ve had, or what your age is, you can always choose to be your best self.
IF I CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU!
